What is Persona?

Founded by Spike, Persona is a state-of-the-art NFT avatar collection at the heart of the Unagi gaming ecosystem!

What you're looking at, my friends, is a hidden gem waiting to bloom in the current soon-to-come bull market. It combines the nostalgic and emotionally charged retro anime aesthetics with an IP that aspires to incorporate its digital identity into in-game advantages across the ecosystem.

Not trying to compare but, Persona does feel like Azuki in its early days. The only difference is that Persona already has games under its wings So, technically, they already have an advantage.

Persona’s mission remains simple, yet many who have attempted it failed: To harmonize the distinct realms of traditional and Web3 gaming; to be the bridge that compresses gaming into a single entity/term.

What is Unagi Studios?

Unagi, a Web3 game studio established in June 2021 by Pellerin and Charlie, is the creator of two well-known games:

• UltiChamps

• UltiChampsBball

Both titles have a combined MAU of 42k, and a total of 400k registered users. Additionally, with a revenue of $6.5 million since launch coupled with a $2.2 million market volume, UltiChamps earned their spot in the “Top 10 Most Played Games on BNB Chain”.

Not just that, Unagi has a team of gaming veterans consisting of ex-Ubisoft Studio Managers who worked on several AAA games with millions of users. They are also huge NFT collectors, holding collections of BAYC, Pudgy Penguin, Azuki, and DeGods, to name some.

When it comes to backers, Unagi boasts some of the most renowned companies in the Web3 gaming space. Binance Labs and Polygon studios have raised over $10M to date.

Based on what we know, all revenue generated in games in $UNA will be burnt. Currently, there are 60M unactivated $UNA that have been accumulated through revenue. This will result in a limited supply, thereby increasing the value of the asset.

There will be a snapshot and airdrop process, just like most games right now. Additionally, for those who have earned and owned $CHAMP (Unagi’s previous token) before, your $CHAMP will automatically be updated to $UNA once the token goes live.

Conclusion

It is clear that Persona is much more than just a PFP play. It combines gaming, lifestyle, PFP, and last but not least, creativity, merged into one.

Why did I say that?

• As mentioned above, Unagi already has two flagship titles under its wings, and their metrics are very healthy.

• When it comes to lifestyle, Persona “is the culmination of an ecosystem” that Unagi has built over the last 3 years; its community is as strong as the early years of the NFT era.

• Their art is clean. It also evokes nostalgia, and I'm sure it has a sentimental vibe that can entice you in.

Persona is a project that focuses on the long-run gains, not the short-run adrenaline. They have built a detailed roadmap detailing the phases/parts of their updates.

Now that the Ecosystem is done and dusted, they will be moving on to Part 2, which is Art.

With that said, Persona’s collection does feel like something the Web3 gaming space needed - a fresh design, a fresh project, and a fresh ecosystem. It will definitely be more than your average NFT PFPs. 

Combining both Unagi’s gaming expertise and Spike’s NFT knowledge, we are looking at the best of both worlds right now.
