Metagame Industries secures $100M valuation in funding round 🚀 

Metagame Industries, a Web3 game studio based in Singapore, has successfully completed a strategic funding round, achieving a valuation of nearly $100 million for their highly anticipated game, Abyss World. The capital will enable Metagame Industries to speed up Abyss World’s development, harness advanced AI technologies, and deliver an unparalleled gaming experience to a global audience. Abyss World, a flagship AAA title within the Sui ecosystem, is a collaboration with Mysten Labs and has received nearly 120,000 global pre-orders on Steam wishlist.

Axie Infinity achieved Guinness World Records 🏆

Axie Infinity, developed by Vietnamese studio Sky Mavis, features a set of NFT items hosted on a custom Ethereum sidechain called Ronin. According to Guinness World Records, a total of 1,304,117 Ethereum (valued at $4,039,319,819) has been spent on NFTs from this collection on 24 March 2022. In 2021, it recorded $3.5 billion in NFT transactions, accounting for more than two-thirds of the volume within the blockchain gaming space.

Indian gaming company Yudiz Solutions gains approval for IPO 🇮🇳

Yudiz Solutions Ltd, a leading Indian company in blockchain, artificial intelligence, and game development, announced on May 25 that it has received approval from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) for its initial public offering (IPO). The company will be listed on NSE Emerge, a platform dedicated to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), becoming the second gaming company to list on an exchange after Nazara Technologies in 2021. Proceeds will be used to develop Yudiz Solutions’ gaming studio and multi-gaming platform, focusing on casual, hyper-casual, and mid-core games.

Gods Unchained is set to launch on Apple and Android mobile devices later this year. Epic Games Store introduces Epic Rewards, offering 5% back on eligible purchases 🛍️

The Epic Games Store has launched Epic Rewards, a new program that allows users to earn 5% back in rewards on every eligible purchase made on the platform. The program is free to join, requires no sign-up, and automatically enrols all Epic Games account holders. Users can earn rewards on games, apps, add-ons, virtual currency, and eligible subscriptions, but the rewards do expire after 25 months. The launch coincides with the Epic Games Store MEGA Sale, offering free games, cosmetics, and deals for users to start earning rewards.

Sorare Introduces alternate entry method for French Players amid NFT regulations ⚽️

Web3 fantasy sports company Sorare collaborates with the French National Gaming Authority (ANJ) to create an alternate entry method for players in France, adhering to the country's existing regulations on in-game assets and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The temporary solution, live for Sorare: Football and soon for Sorare: MLB and NBA, allows France-based players without NFTs to access tournaments with certain restrictions, such as phone number verification, proof of residence, and using randomly generated non-blockchain cards. Sorare aims to build an inclusive ecosystem for sports fans.

StepN becomes first P2E blockchain game to integrate Apple Pay 🍏

StepN, a move-to-earn blockchain game, has become the first in its category to integrate Apple Pay, simplifying the purchase of its ‘Sneaker NFTs’ for iOS users without requiring a crypto wallet. Founded in 2021, Stepn rewards users with digital sneakers as NFTs for engaging in physical activities tracked on smartphones. The integration introduced a new in-app currency called Sparks, which isn’t a cryptocurrency. Apple users can purchase Spark credits via Apple Pay, allowing Stepn to bypass the 30% cut Apple charges for in-app purchases.

Rune Seeker is a Free-To-Play strategy card game available on the App Store and Google Play. It features a turn-based format where players use Rune sets to control the game and defeat opponents. This game is currently build on top of Avalanche blockchain, which offers their own sub net and lightning fast transaction speeds.

Unlike other card games, Runes in this game function as spell cards that manipulate the power of Units and Terrain. Each match has randomly generated terrain, providing unique gameplay experiences. The objective is to use the Rune set to manipulate terrain and buff the player's army while potentially debuffing the opponent's army.
